The debate by the Green side is one dimensional - they talk about Sustainability - but not the United Nations definition which includes Economic and Social. We need to ensure all development is environmentally sustainable of course but we need to think about the well being of our regional communities not the inner city bases of these groups. I hope this group will pressure the government to push this ahead.

Townsville is currently lacking business confidence. This project will provide the "kick start" to many other opportunities and projects in the City and will be the catalyst to a sustained period of growth.

Queensland has relied on the sustainable development of the mining industry to fund state growth and jobs. Our great state is hurting and the damage needs to be repaired so that jobs are created again.

As an environmental professional with more than 20 years in the mining and construction industry, my belief is that we are now overstepping the environmental protection line to the detriment of society and driving investment away to places who will operate to lesser standards.

I've been saying to everyone that will listen that if the worst thing you could do for the environment would be to shut down the Australian coal industry. The result would be more poor quality coal replacing our relatively clean coal.

The obstructive behaviour of a minority in our community are destroying our country. It is time politicians of all stripes took a stand when technicalities in processes prevent opportunity from being taken. Adani is just the latest. This project is vital for our future.

They wish to save our environment and are against mining. Lets see how content they feel.when there is little to no employment and their lights are turned off. Maybe then will they realise how important our resource industry is.
