It is high time our government pulled their heads out of the sand and started dealing with the issues which will carry this country into the next century and beyond. Enough pillow fluffing, get on with the job we elected you to do!

The world needs steel, minerals and power. Green groups need to turn their considerable financial and political power away from delaying critical projects and toward funding and researching the alternatives they claim are better. Until we have a better way of making steel, for example, we are going to need coking coal.

As an retired electricity supply authority electrical worker, I know that bulk electricity can only be produced by steam generation. Coal is by far the cheapest option in this process. If we don't want our power bills to be increased significantly into the future,we must continue with our base load power stations burning coal to produce steam. Solar and wind production of electricity is very expensive. Perhaps it is Idealism fighting Realism.

As a man responsibile for bringing in the income for a family of 5 it is a current worry whether your job is safe from one day to the next. And with little work locally to fall back on if things go bad its infuriating that my future and families future could be decided by something as small as a loop hole.

queensland is hovering on the edge of disaster and on the brink of becoming a state of disaster because of some university educated richard craniums who live in a little bubble and feel empowered by looking for minute legal technicalities.get out to the real world and get a real job.thousands of qldlanders and their families are suffering.the ones causing this crap are either university funded by rich parents or far left /greenies bludging on hard working tax payers.

I manage a construction company that has operations based in Townsville and Mackay and there is a definitive need for infrastructure development opportunities to create economic stimulus and to combat the current rise in unemployment. Townsville currently rates the second highest for unemplyment in Qld and Mackay is ot far behind. We need projects like this to get off the ground for both short and long term economic stability. Enough is enough, 5 years and still nothing to show for it. How must we look for any investors considering potential opportunities in our country?
