Braves forever ! My parents graduated as Braves. Myself and husband graduated as Braves ! My Daughter class of 2019 graduated a Brave. I want my 10 year old son to be able to continue the legacy leave Taconic as the Braves please !

Shame on this group of people making this decision on behalf of our city. Native Americans should be honored that Pittsfield named a school on their behalf. Leave well enough alone. Stop trying to follow suit with what's happening around this crazy world!

This is part of our local history. The 'Taconic Braves' means so much more than just some trendy bandwagon everyone is jumping on. A Mascot is chosen as something to be proud of. Something to honor. If I had to guess, I would say that 98% of our community takes no offense to our Mascot. We are proud of it. We are proud of its history. It is an honor to our Native Americans! This was their land. This decision should not be made by a small committee. It should be a community vote. And to do all of this in the middle of an already trying time is absurd!! Hearts are broken and people are very affected by this decision. Please reconsider!!

My dad was the class that helped create the mascot. I am a proud alumni of Taconic Braves and was proud to support our teams! Our name has kept us strong, helped us overcome obstacles, and tells each kid to be brave and believe in themselves. To remove the name now will destroy what Taconic High School has grown to become. The mascot should stay!

I don’t feel that Braves is racist, derogatory or anything else negative, Taconic Braves is an honor to the Indian tribes that were here before us. I feel that it gives them Respect and Honor, keep the name and mascot, Proud to be a Brave
