By signing this petition you are telling the City of Tacoma you want a moratorium on new medical marijuana patient spaces in Tacoma until the city sorts out their policies internally and tells the residents and businesses clearly what is allowed and what is not. *** My home was raided as part of the collateral damage of the raids on Tacoma Hemp Company and its owner Justin Prince who rents his house from me on July 29, 2010. THC got a business license in our city, had the liason officers from the TPD walk through during the second day of business, and yet THC was not told what the business was doing would be considered illegal and subject to raids. My personal home was raided, damaged, and we were traumatized by the experience. Nothing was illegal in our home! It is unacceptable for the city to continue to allow businesses to open that it doesn't have policies in place for them to function within. It is unacceptable that people's lives are turned upside down just because no one has been forced to clarify the rules. We the people want the city and law enforcement to open a community-wide dialogue on this subject, to work respectfully with patients and patient spaces so we are all safe and tax payer money isn't wasted. Vote for a moratorium so the city is forced to address these issues.
