We, on behalf of the community of Sylmar in the City of Los Angeles, oppose the Sakaida Strip Mining Project. We oppose it for environmental health reasons: strip mining aggravates and causes athsma and respiratory disease. We oppose it on ecological grounds: Pacoima Canyon happens to be part of a major wildlife corridor in Southern California. The Sakaida Strip Mining Project simply cannot happen.

Keep our air clean. We dont need more dust and health problems in sylmar. Stop this project now.
I grew up playing in these canyons. Ruining the wildlife corridor for a mine is just plain wrong. Leave it alone.
This is our home. we need to protect the land for the future. dont let them tear up the canyon.
Please think about the animals and our families. greed shouldnt win over our neighborhood.
no way this should be allowed in a residential area. totally unsafe.
