Wigan council are implementing changes to the controlled parking zone W2 in Swinley and Whitley by splitting it into 4 zones. The changes will impose unfair restrictions on residents free movement around the zone. Residents will no longer be able to carry out daily tasks such as tending to sick relatives nearby, dropping children off at nursery or schools and visiting local shops. The changes are being imposed without consultation with residents, schools or businesses and could cause more problems than they solve. For example 300 parents at Woodfield School will be sharing around 20 spaces. The council have been told about the impact of the changes but chosen not to review their decision. Please say no to the changes and sign the petition if enough people say no they must look again at this proposal. Thanks for looking!

This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to get the kids to school with no parking? The council never listens to us.

Total madness. Trying to visit my elderly mum is gonna be a nightmare now. Sort it out.

Unbelievable. Nobody asked us about this at all. Typical council just doing whatever they want again.

Ridiculous decision. 20 spaces for 300 parents?! Someone at the council needs a reality check.
