The States Members have officially approved the plans for our new pool and gym facility. This outcome reflects the commitment of our community to securing essential resources for the island. We plan to monitor the building process closely to ensure the project stays on course.

It's Sink or Swim time ~ your pool needs you!
States Members are soon deciding whether to support the project, and this is our last chance to convince them that a pool and gym are important to our Island. See details at www.swimalderney.org
The Charitable Trust organising the project, ACSC, believe that
~ our children are being denied a vital all-year-round facility
~ Alderney residents will benefit from healthy enjoyable exercise - particularly the elderly, infirm and handicapped
~ visitors will enjoy a much needed facility, benefitting our
hard hit tourism industry
The scheme will not place an onerous burden on the States because
~ it is scaled down to meet the needs of our small island, while still
having a 25 metre 3 lane indoor heated pool with gym~ ASCS have already raised £100,000 thanks to the generosity of
local residents and businesses~ the running costs will be minimal, using solar panels
and mostly volunteer staff~ Guernsey Education Dept. have verbally agreed to a significant
contribution to running costs as the school will share the facility
All we are asking from you is to sign the petition below to let your States Members know that you really want a community pool and gym for your island.

Think of the elderly who need the exercise. It is a necessity not a luxury.
GET IT DONE. Tourism is hurting and we need a reason for people to stay longer.
About time we got something proper here. My kids have to travel just to learn to swim which is ridiculous.
Stop ignoring the needs of the community. We all deserve a facility like this!
This would be so good for the island. Everyone I talk to wants it done.
