If Suzuki ever did update the DR, they would probably have to sell it for at least $10K. I would pay that gladly but how many others would in this country? I own a KTM 350 EXCF, DR650 and Africa Twin 1100. I kept my DR because there are times when it is clearly the best choice of these 3 bikes for 50/50 rides with a significant amount of pavement. I continue to like it to the point that I am considering selling my Africa Twin because its weight prevents me from enjoying it on 50/50 rides as my body ages and injuries occur. I severely injured my shoulder last year and needed surgery that I am still recovering from. I am afraid to take the 530 lb Africa Twin off road but I can still take the DR off road in fairly challenging conditions. Yeah, I would spend $10-12K for an updated DR in a heartbeat and sell all 3 of my current bikes.

There is a market for a basic, reliable machine. Give it a birthday and bring it in to this century, please.

It's due. Fuel injection, ABS, AND A 6 speed gear box. Maybe tweak the suspension.

The KLR has fuel injection, why not the DR650?

Please don't let the DR650 finally die from creeping obsolescence. It would be great to have a lightweight, large modern dual sport that isn't made by KTM. Maybe in the $8000 range

Please upgrade it, the changes don’t have to be dramatic but fuel injection and at least the OPTION of anti-lock breaks would be amazing!!

Dear Suzuki, Please, please, please - update the DR650, for heaven’s sake! We need Fuel injection, anti lock brakes, and other commonly required features such as auxiliary power, LED lights and turn signals. I will buy a new DRZ if you can do this. Thank you!!!

Loved my DR. Please modernize it but keep the weight down. Something in the range of the Ktm 690.

I suspect upgrades that would pass various government requirements would include water cooling as well as updates to EFI, updated antilock brakes & posssibly other systems as well (such as the exhaust). At this point you might consider announcing it, with new paint, as a DR650 SE and tie it to the new 800.

I would add another DR650 as a companion to my 2016 DR650
