It’s about time they redesigned the old pig.
But keep it simple!

Better suspension; Suzuki has better parts/technology sitting on the shelf! They could assemble a dual sport that meets or exceeds anything on the market; please ship it with class leading tires!

There are a bunch of us that really need an updated platform in the DR650 format. EFI is essential. ABS would really help. The rest can essentially stay the same.

Do it! We need a more reasonably sized dual sport!

It truly must have electronic fuel injection and a six speed transmission! More off-road competent suspension would help as well as upgraded instrumentation. With that said, I would hope that basic air/oil cooled engine, with it’s easily adjusted valves, could otherwise remain unchanged but it’s doubtful it would be able to pass current emissions standards without resorting to water cooling and the complexities and weight gains that accompany it!

Many like the air-cooled base engine, but EFI and ABS would make the DR a real competitor to the KLR.

What I like about the DR650 is that it's easy to work on, simple, and it just works! What I wish it had was a fairing, a bigger fuel tank, more horsepower....wait a minute...I'm describing the V-Strom 800 DE. Nevermind...i'm good.

I loved my DR and sold it looking for a fuel injected bike. I had odd carb problems that baffled me and the mechanics. I’d love to have another.
