Stand for justice with UMD Workers!
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about working conditions
and treatment of workers here at UMD-College Park. We are dismayed over
revelations contained in the March 31st Diamondback article, which
detailed the "plantation" environment endured by workers who are "made
to feel like idiots." Further we are disturbed at the lack of response
from the University Administration to these serious concerns. The
ideals of higher learning cannot be built on the humiliations of its
workers.
We urge President Loh to take immediate action to improve the
working environment for campus workers and pledge to stand with
campus workers on April 13th at 1PM as they rally for justice and
dignity here at University of Maryland.
