Why should schoolchildren be made to change their natural hair into an unnatural style to be accepted? That is discrimination and is not good for the student's wellbeing to be told she isn't good enough. Natural curly hair is beautiful and schools have to accept that.

I love natural looking Afro hair, especially the 'puff' look! It's ridiculous that some people want natural hair to be restricted for no sensible reason. ( I'm white btw ❤️)

I thought school was about education not about the looks and likes of one's hair. Continue to wear your hair as you wish. I have worn mines natural for over 10 years now.

Was quite taken aback at the comments made by the Principal, since I wear the exact hair style. Was she telling us black women that our hair don't was not 'good' enough? I sincerely hope not. I have two daughters who have natural hair and I am proud they chose not to 'straighten' it.

I am a university professor with a PhD and I love my natural hair. I have had locs for over 10 years now. We need to question why some fearful people are concerned with keeping our hair "under control". It's often used as a proxy measure for keeping US under control. I stand against that.
