I was stunned when I read this, beautiful, confident and let no one tell you that you are not worthy. I am so sorry this happened, it is our job to confirm and promise you a non-judge mental future. You will do great things for our world, NEVER doubt that. Your are all stunning. Heads up, shoulders back and off you go. The sky is the limit.

This is absolutely absurd. This principle should not be allowed to engage in such discriminatory actions. If she can't keep her personal feelings out of her professional career, then maybe she's in the wrong line of work. If she continues to harass children in this manner, she should be removed from her position, period.

Perms are dangerous and unatural. Children should be encouraged to wear their hair natural.

I read it but I still can't believe it...This is a shame!! This is why many of us black women(many not all) have no edges and severely damaged hair now. I am have just began the process and already my edges are fuller than they have ever been. Some of us myself including don't feel beautiful with out a weave. A way of Thinking I am just now realizing at 36 years old is ridiculous. I pray these young girls embrace their roots and put forth the courage many black women don't!!.... EMBRACE your beauty young ladies!!! For black is beautiful!! I hope the authorities look into this!

Seriously, I don't understand how a school has the right to tell students not to wear their hair naturally. This is beyond acceptable. It is discrimination based on a feature they have because of their race and therefore it is oppression that must be fought. Every one has the right to have their hair natural! #BlackPower Go girls!

I, an American, support this young girl's natural hair choice. Her school should be more concerned about what is happening with the INSIDE of her head.

Who in the Hell is running this school? We are of African descent and I do not know of a single Black period with straight hair without the use of some help ( perm etc.) We are NOT Caucasian, there is very little left that distinguishes us.

I am 57 years old. I have worn my hair PUFFY most of my life. It's beautiful, natural, it's Black Culture being attacked. It's our natural physical beauty being belittled.

I am sad to read this story. We need to teach our children to love and respect themselves. I have long curly kinky hair and i too am proud to wear it natural. I used to spend so much money to straighten it, gel it, hair spray/spritz to keep it "tamed" the processing caused a burning sensation, the breaking of my hair, leaving it stringy was unappealing. It took serveral years to get my hair healthy again. When I wear my hair down to work, I receive so many wonderful compliments. This story is wrong for so many reasons. Natural is beautiful!!! #SupportThePuff
