It's a shame we can't love our own hair in 2015.

This is so disrespectful. I have been natural for 4yrs.But I hate how people judge Black women because of our hair.

How dare anyone make a comment to anyone concerning the natural state of the young lady's hair. You should be concerned with her grades, and not her hair. Keep up your head up dear one. Ms. Valerie thinking you look regal.

This is unacceptable. These girls must not be let down by their schools and teachers. Their hair is beautiful, and every adult in their lives should be instilling them with confidence and self-love instead of tearing them down according to age-old racist perceptions of black women's bodies.

This is the hair that God has blessed us with! How can a teacher say that these young ladies have to have their hair permed? Natural hair is beautiful hair!! #Supportthepuff!!

So ridiculous. How humiliated that beautiful young lady must have felt. I have been natural 12+ years and so are my 3 daughters. I wish someone would tell my daughters or myself how they should wear our hair. I hope they get enough signatures to overturn that decision. Pure foolishness

Leave those girls alone. Stop telling them their natural beauty is not good enough.

School and education as a whole is about self-empowerment picking students apart for their aesthetics is the same as saying that certain students don't deserve to have an education this is how the self esteem of these ladies are being attacked. What's really in play here? and Any authority figure that feels they can choose to tell a child what he or she looks like is a fascist.
