The problem is that it has been happening, we never face a jury of our peers. What that means is that ever trial, every, case, every prosecution and every verdict must be reviewed and reexamined, there is no other choice.

Judge Olu Stevens is correct in his concern that every citizen has a jury that reflects to some degree their peers or community. To do otherwise is a miscarriage of justice and weakens the judicial system.

I have been in Judge Stevens courtroom many times and have witnessed 1st hand what a fair and compassionate Judge he is. He is tough on those who repeatedly violate probation or commit violent crimes, but at the same time he responsibly uses his inherited discretion as a Judge to give people a 2nd (sometimes even 3rd) chance at cleaning up there act before sending them to prison. Judge Stevens is under scrutiny for speaking out against racial injustice in our criminal justice system, and somehow now he is the problem??? No. No. No! In the city of Louisville if a jury pool is 40-1 white and black jurors, that should absolutely be spoken out against especially when dealing with a case where their is a black defendant. 40-1 looks like a modern day court ordered lynch mob to an african american defendant. Somehow we turn an african american judge who stands up for what is right into the problem, and ignore the real issues at hand. Judge Stevens is brave. Judge Stevens is right. Judge Stevens is EXACTLY the type of judge the city of Louisville needs, and he absolutely has my support.
