Australia's forestry community, workers and businesses object to misleading campaigns by environmental groups that aim to shut down Australia's native forestry industries.
The petitioners request that the Senate:
* Recognise that native forestry industries make social, economic and environmental contributions to regions throughout Australia which include:
- Timber, fibre and biomass resources
- Employment for tens of thousands of Australian workers
- Greater carbon mitigation than unmanaged forests
- Habitat for wildlife
- Recreation and tourism
- Bush fire mitigation
* Ensure the forestry industry can continue to access native timber resources for sustainable managed harvest
* Condemn the campaigns of misinformation that are deliberately damaging the livelihoods of thousands of Australians

Leave the timber guys alone. They do more for the environment than these city activists ever will.
Keep our towns alive. Forestry pays the bills for so many rural families who are just trying to get by.
The greens dont know what they are talking about. If we dont manage the bush the fires will just keep getting worse.
sustainable logging is the only way forward. sick of the misinformation being spread around by people who have never set foot in a real forest.
Stop the attacks on hard working Australians. We need our timber industry!

My family has been in logging for 3 generations. People in the city have no idea how these forests actually work.
