I’ve been very disappointed by how this was all handled.

Nothing misleading here; the two thrusts of the petition are clearly worded and the intelligent parents of the community understand both. Let's not confuse expression of concern and passion for what you meant to refer to as "discord." Discourse, by contrast, can be a wonderful thing! Though perhaps it is better done with attribution than with anonymity. Finally, it's super important to note that this petition is not about divisiveness but rather seeking to improve the relationship between the Temple and School. We shouldn't be afraid as a parent community to express ourselves and to ask for action as long as we do it constructively (since all parties in this discussion are well-intentioned and love the same things). This is a constructive petition that should spur lots of healthy dialogue about how we maintain seamless connectivity between Temple and School where it matters...while making sure both are empowered to flourish.

Asking to support an executive is one thing. Asking to support an executive administrator AND sliding in that same petition for signatures a request for autonomy from the Temple that owns the school and to appoint a committee seems misleading. Isn’t this how the school got themselves into this situation to begin with? Good leaders make decisions not based on being loved and supported but rather what’s in the best interest for the Organization they represent. This petition is only breeding further discourse within our community.

Sarah Shulkind has been very effective leading the school towards educational excellence that we have now. We do not want to lose momentum.

There must be a resolution to this situation for the sake of Sinai Temple, Sinai Akiba School and the future of the conservative community in Los Angeles. It's a big deal. Thank you to all community leaders who are involved in working to help our community thrive. L'dor va dor

We are so lucky to have Dr. Shulkind, and would be even luckier to keep her.

We really would love to keep Sarah and to have the kind of advancement and success at our school. No one has the passion, drive and love for our school and community that Sarah has.
