I agree with all the recommended enforcements to allow dog walkers in our parks. In addition I would recommend specific trails, during specific times of the day, that dog owners are allowed to walk their dogs off leash. There are many easy solutions!

This is appalling. Dog are a part of our families and dog walkers are as intigral as nannies. Just because a few residents don't care for dogs doesn't mean that they should be banned from the areas we pay to maintain. They are our families. A community who doesn't support their dogs doesn't support family. It's that simple.

The dog walkers should not be discriminated against, but I do agree that they should be licensed. On a personal note they do create a sense of security for us lone walkers in the woods.

Even if there could be set hours or trails that our dogs could be off leash

Targeting the dog walkers is clearly driven by neighbors who dislike dogs. I'd prefer to see signage prohibiting litter and enforcing fines. I always have extra bags with me to clean up the park, especially for glass, food wrappers, reflectors from bikes, and fish hooks/lines, etc.

Let's make the change to let our 4 legged sons and daughters enjoy Greenwich! We have to go to Port Chester to take our dogs out!

what a shame... this town still fails to designate decent space for dogs of Greenwich (as well as their owners and caregivers)

I don't understand for the life of me, why other towns/states have NO ISSUES whatsoever about dog parks/hikes etc. except for this one town, Greenwich, CT...I never hear any other places complain about insurance, neighbors complaining etc. This is life as it is today people and it includes animals. We know the money is there, hire a dog poop company to pick up the poop that unreliable owners don't. Help your local businesses survive. So tired of the constant excuses in this town. Get your new richey rich neighbors that just move here to chip in!

Our petition makes sense and I support finding a safe and fiscally responsible way to allow professional dog walkers to utilize town resources. They are effectively our proxies when we hire them to watch our dogs when we are away.

Dogs should be welcome everywhere! Discrimination against businesses who take care of our pets should not happen! We pay taxes here and should have whoever we want walk out dogs everywhere!

I suggest yearly dog park passes, for the owners of dogs registered in town, not the walkers... out of town dogs pay more for a day, week or month passes for people visiting! Similar to the beach passes.

as a professional pet sitter/dog walker in NY, i find this disturbing. dogs need to be walked, and walkers gotta make a living... a professional will scoop the poop, so what's the problem?
