He pushed me everyday to be the person I am today. Never left any student left behind and made sure everyone was having fun and competing. He was more than a coach but a person that has influenced my life for the better.

I’ve known Joe for many many years and have had two kids coached by him. I would not believe these allegations under any circumstance. I know the man that Joe is and know that he is the type of man you want your son to learn from.

I’ve known Joe for almost 20 years. Growing up, I was very close with his family and know first handedly how much he loved being apart of the school, coaching, and how passionate he was to being a leader and a good role model to not only his daughters, but to the students he saw everyday. He’s an amazing teacher, coach, and inspiration to his students. He doesn’t deserve what is happening to him. Any allegations made against Joe are completely and utterly ridiculous and wrong. I have had the experience and privilege to have Mr. Oswald coach and mentor me in my young teenage years. I can personally say Mr. Oswald has been nothing but professional, but more importantly a leader in my life. He may be a teacher and a coach, but I believe I can speak for almost anyone when I say he is there for you when needed most. He genuinely just cares about his students and players. I can’t even began to count the number of times he would just ask me how life is outside of school and sports! All time professional but again more importantly leader and friend and he does it without being asked!

This cowardly decision by the school to ruin a career of a dedicated and outstanding teacher is a disgrace to the profession. Someone with an unblemished record should not be sacrificed with a “knee jerk” decision without proper evidence. Someone who has dedicated his life to teaching and coaching should never be treated with this disdain.

Coach Oswald had such compassion when my son experienced a life changing diagnosis. Coach Oswald checked in with my son constantly, both in and out of the classroom to make sure he was doing well in all his classes and was able to tolerate the PE activities. My son would not have made it through all the changes that were happening with him due to this diagnosis and middle school without a teacher like Coach Oswald. Thank you, Coach Oswald for making sure my student adapted to middle school and his new diagnosis!!

I would not be where I am today without the guidance, mentorship, and support from Coach O. He was like a second father to a lot of us that were fortunate enough to be coached by him. He treated each of us with the utmost respect and always made sure we were taken care of. I will always vouch for the character of this man, as he is one of the most respectable and genuine people I’ve ever met.
