When 1 kid and 1 parents can call the shot on terminating a teachers job with out a hearing or discussion of what took place. This is a sad day in our schools. I blame the liberal school board on this. This could be a good thing to expose this liberalism in running our schools. What happen to innocent before being proven guilty? When you have hundreds of people backing a good teacher but only one parent going off of what their child told them happen. To end up asking them to resign , it is another sad day in America.

I have known Joe Oswald for 15 years. He has coached our girls in softball and later taught them at Pleasant Lea Middle School. I believe he always has the students best interest at the forefront of everything he does.

Joe Oswald was a positive influence on both my boys who played for him a few years ago ! His professionalism was above and beyond ! He always cared about each student athlete and strived to bring out there potential ! Coach O is well known in the community as a great coach and family man !!! Any student athlete that has played for him thru the years has gained values for life long experiences !!!! Thanks Joe for being a Coach !!!!!

Coach O coached me and was never any thing but a great asset to the Lee’s Summit West coaching staff. I feel it’s only right we give him a 2nd chance given all the years of quality service he has provided our community and lives he’s touched.

Praying for all involved in this matter. This man, Coach O, is a man of integrity, honor, high character and love for everyone and anyone! Every teacher needs to stand behind this man. The injustice he has been subjected to is simply ludicrous and the district needs to do the right thing and correct their wrong.

Coach Oswald has always done an amazing job with my students. He is a professional but most of all he encourages all students of all abilities to be successful. He has helped countless students in his career and I support him as he is an excellent educator and amazing human,

I taught and coached with Joe Oswald for multiple years. He was my head track coach for most of those years. Not only did he go out of his way to not embarrass students and athletes, he was often the first to give students another chance. I learned A LOT about equitable treatment (of students and peers) from Joe.

Coach Oswald is a basketball referee comrade and former teacher to two of my sons. He holds the upmost love and respect for his profession and students involved. I wholeheartedly trust Mr Oswald with any student, student athlete or even my own children on every level. His caring nature and drive to improve and motivate young men and women is what we should all look for in a teacher/mentor.

Joe comes from a family & extended family of GOOD integrity, values, morals and principles that I have known for almost 40 years. What is happening within the LSR7 School Board? Please take considerable time and consideration not only Joe's 27 years of employment with your district but the comments that have been posted on behalf of Joe Oswald. A PERSON that is always putting others first.

Coach O is the best! He cared for every single player on our team while I was in the LS West football program. He’s the type of person to put others before himself. I’ve never seen him do or say anything negative. He always tried to build people up. Not sure of the circumstances on the issue but I do know West football is tough and not for everyone. You’re held to a certain expectation on that team. They’ll push you to be the best version of yourself. You have to be mentally strong. Players would get mad at coaches in certain moments because if you mess up, whether it’s with grades or a discipline issue, there’s consequences. All those players, including myself, look back and appreciate every one of those coaches. Coach O was one of the top coaches in the program
