I feel he did it to verify what exactly was said and it was not said out if malice or in a racial way. He should not be fired!

This has been mishandled by the district administration and the school board from the outset. It looks like another expensive and embarrassing lawsuit will be the likely outcome. Maybe it is time to consider a recall election for the entire school board and a re-examination of the Superintendent and Human Resources leadership.

As described in numerous reports, his actions do not warrant termination or suspension. The district should do nothing more than evaluate procedures and train all teachers. His 27 year career should be considered. I am not aware that this situation demonstrates a pattern.

I believe Mr Oswald should be allowed to keep his job. Is the BOE really going to take the word of a 13 year old boy that Mr Oswald called this boy the N word. I do not believe that for one second. As for student A she admitted to what was said and signed off on that. Mr Oswald was following procedures and repeated exactly what he heard from student A as he believed was the correct thing to do. If the rules aren’t clear then maybe someone should look into that. As far our superintendent, shame on him. Context does matter. In this case it matters a great deal. Mr Oswald’s reputation and character should account for some loyalty from the superintendent and the BOE from years of being an excellent teacher and an all around good person. I hope the BOE does the right thing. If we allow students to get away with making things up and getting teachers fired it will change LSR7 and not in a good way. Teachers want to come to our district to teach. Will they in the future?

Sounds as though Oswald was merely having the student who did utter this to another student verify what the student had said to another.
The teacher is not guilty. Disappointed in this District's managment of the situation.

This entire situation is asinine. Fire the superintendent for not doing his job by actually meeting the teacher before he accused him of racism. NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS RIGHT. I hope the coach sues the school. Plenty of evidence for that.
