O6-07 I was in middle school at pleasant lee middle school. Oswald was the most genuine coach and personality out of any teacher or faculty there. Once you start letting Adolescent teens run the asylum (the schools) by allowing them to call out accusations on teachers, especially accusations that are taken out of context, altered, false, and targeted at ruining an educator’s reputation, then the teacher’s will no longer be leaders. They will fear the students and probably will no longer deliver the education needed to help youth grow into disciplined and well mannered adults.

The fact the school district has made Coach O the bad guy is outrageous! This man has been one of the few educators that would always go the extra mile to help a child. He truly loves his job and cares for others. After all this time, all of his good deeds, you want to fire him? Ridiculous!!!

Horrible that Lees Summit district has even put this teacher through this! Losing his job for reviewing a students statement doesn't warrant him losing his job and jeopardizing his career.

Patrick Graham is our son and was your student these last two years. We definitely know based non your character this was taken out of context. Regardless of what the policy is and disgruntled parents feel ;a teacher can't demonstrate right and wrong without citing the example. The parents should realize that a student using that term among other persons is wrong .

So absolutely sick about what our district has turned into. Really Dr. Buck?? What are you thinking? Or maybe your not. By following your regulations your gonna slap a 27year amazing wonderful and sincere teacher, family man and pillar for this community. You sir don’t deserve to represent this community. We are so much better than this, you are putting a black eye on our community. You should take some lessons from Moreno getting removed from the board and the last Super that this great city called out. We are Lees Summit, don’t you dare think we don’t support those that taught us, wiped our tears away at sporting event we lost, or stayed late for us to be a better student. I pray for your heart, because it is not in the right spot!

No one should be fired for doing what is written on their job description. He was directed to read the quote to the student verbatim, and that is what he did. To recommend termination of someone for doing a job that they were told to do, because of political pressures, is a cowardly act. If the Superintendent thought that there should be an exception to this rule, he should have previously taken action. I'm sure that he didn't actually know what the policy was, but to turn his back on a teacher for sticking to the book is an absolute betrayal. Saying the exact words back to the student serves the purposes of 1) confirming that the teacher heard it correctly, and 2) making that student hear what they said, and how it was wrong to say. There should be no repercussions on the teacher. The Superintendent should probably have already made a task force to see if there were any areas with insensitive weaknesses in the district, but he seems quick to blame somebody else.
