Coach Oswald helped me many of times throughout my middle school days, and even followed as a special teams coach to my High School. He was hands down the most helpful teacher/coach I had going through 7&8 grade, and I hope he is still around when my kids are in middle school.

I fully support Coach O. The board will be setting very dangerous precedent. All teachers should be very afraid. They may the next victims of these cowardly decisions.

It was wrong for Mr. Buck to terminate Mr. Oswald's contract. Mr. Oswald was following procedure. Just plain not logical.

It is profoundly disappointing that this is even an issue. The school board should look at disciplining the superintendent based on how he responded to this situation.

He literally repeated the word back to the student. He did NOT call the student that specific word. He deserves to keep his job!!!!

As I have personally had the privilege of teaching in the same school, for well over a decade, I can say confidently that Joe upholds the highest morals and expectations of himself, and his students. This situation is a shocking example of how a completely dedicated, hard working educator who consistently motivates and cheers others on, can be maligned with such blatant disregard, while this man has dedicated LIFE to this school, and to each student in it. Please understand that it is the school district, and our much loved students that would receive the harshest punishment if this termination were to proceed.

I hope he keeps his job. Context matters. His overall body of work is exemplary. The assistant superintendent who investigated this recommendation was training and a letter in the file.
