I'm in full support of the opening of a 30 bed shelter for homeless men at 850/854 Bloor St. West. I'm ashamed of those who would petition against building this part of our community.

I want to live in a diverse community. I used to live near Na Ma Res Shelter and appreciated all of the vibrance it added to my neighbourhood, including the Hilcrest community garden and Pow Wows on St Clair.
I hope this initiative will add to my community and help my children learn about the need to support others when they are vulnerable, and the civic responsibility to be there for our fellow human beings.

In lieu of developing more affordable housing this is the solution to addressing homelessness. NIMBY-folks -don't want a shelter ? Advocate for affordable housing!

This is shameful that we are leaving people to die on the streets. Would you want to live on the streets? Would you want to be judged for being poor! Are you aware that poverty is political (created by design)?

We are losing shelter beds at an alarming rate in Toronto at a time when rents are climbing astronomically. Support the CONC's Men's Shelter, please.

I wish shelters weren't necessary but as long as they are I support them being integrated into our community.

I live near Yonge & Richmond so know that too many people are homeless; that too many people sleep on hot air vents to stay warm. Our brothers have a right to safe, secure accommodation.
