Good Shepherd Centre runs at 99-100% capacity 100% of the time. We turned away 132 men in September because we were full. The system needs more beds.

As a former resident in the Bloor/ Ossington neighbourhood, I fully support sheltering the neighbourhood's most vulnerable. Over the winter of 2013, a homeless man was taking refuge in the stairwell of my Bloor/ Havelock store top apartment. There is a need in the area.

Over the past year, many Toronto shelters have been at over 90% capacity most nights. As a resident of the Christie-Ossington community, I would be delighted to share our wonderful neighbourhood with the residents of the new 30-bed shelter.
