The support is needed.

There is an overwhelming need for safe beds for men in the city of Toronto. Especially for men coming out of the prison system, there is a lack of places to go, I am glad to see that there are more options being developed

Why would we not support this men's shelter, the costs we bear for ignoring the lived reality of people who need help and support come through many times over in emergancy healthcare costs alone. This is rediculus in a city where we have so much, where the construction of crap condimuniums is rampant and developers walk away with absurd profits, I ask again, why would we not do this?

I strongly support CONC's initiative to open a shelter at their Bloor location. CONC is an amazing agency that does so much for Toronto's low income and homeless individuals. The drop-in is a hub and community for many people to get help, have access to resources, and socialize and be a part of something. I can only imagine how beneficial a shelter in that location would be. Keep up the great work!

There is no reason not to support this shelter. Every human deserves a place to sleep regardless of economic status.

I'm a resident of the neighborhood and support this 30 bed men's shelter. It's a much needed service and I hope the project finds the support it needs to be successful in this community.

I'm a student nurse currently undertaking my community health practicum at the Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Center (CONC) and have had the great pleasure of witnessing what amazing contributions this organization has made for low-income families in my own backyard. I have lived in the Christie Ossington neighbourhood for the past 17 years and welcome the development of a men's shelter with great enthusiasm. The services provided by CONC's dedicated staff and volunteers have helped to improve the quality of life in our neighbourhood and made our community safer, healthier, and more inclusive for our most vulnerable members. CONC is an excellent contributor to the growing variety of services that make the Christie Ossington neighbourhood an ideal location for a shelter while we work to address and resolve the housing crisis.

30 beds isnt enough to replace the hundreds weve lost... but its a start. And christie is a great central location for clients to access local services. Open more shelters!!!

I live in a community where there are four large shelters within a four block radius of my home. I do not feel threatened of endangered, but feel that the rest of the city should also be as inclusive as mine is.

Shelter space is badly needed

I live a block away from 850 Bloor and am thrilled to welcome this new shelter and its guests/inhabitants into the neighborhood!

Thank you so much for opening this shelter, it is so, so, so very much needed in this city! It is no exaggeration to say it will save lives - though in fact we will still have a deficit of shelter beds in Toronto given the number of beds lost over the last decade, sad to say
