Support Light and Love Home to Stay and Serve the Community

I have been a member of Light and Love for a total of 8 years. The service that LLH has provided me, whether academic tutoring or personal life education and advice, has been life-changingly beneficial. This is a community that definitely deserves to stay and I hope it will not be forced to relocate.

I was touched by this rally as I heard them go past my work. I reached out to get more information and I think that they do is amazing. Ofc the city just wants to make more money - and doesn't care about all the good work the LLH does. Please sign this petition!

I am not affiliated with this organization but have been touched by their passion to remain in the neighbourhood. I firmly agree with their call to have the City of Vancouver think firstly about the needs of its citizens. People in this city struggle to find community and feel a sense of belonging, yet it is the thing that feeds us most. The thing we all need most.

Please talk with community centre and find a better solution before just force them to close down. Thanks.

A public hearing is necessary if city of Vancouver want to sell this property bcos it is providing services to the community. It is affecting the whole community. City of Vancouver has responsible to put community need into consideration.

Light and Love is providing a valuable service to the residents of Metro Vancouver, and is sympathetic to the social aims of the City of Vancouver. The church is an exemplary corporate citizen. Don't displace them.

I moved to Vancouver about 6 years ago. It's not a very easy path to become a citizen from a stranger. However, Light and Love Home helped me to take my 1st step to get myself involved into the community. By volunteering at Light and Love Home, I got many opportunities to do community services. I visited senior homes, accompanied seniors to see doctors, took part in the street cleaning, served food for the poor, participated the charity run, assisted the class teacher in children summer day camp, taught in senior iPad class, etc. I was happy that I could make contributions to the community through volunteering at Light and Love Home. Not only that, I also joined the church meeting at their location. I deeply experience God's love and the love of God's family. Instead of feeling anxious as many new comers did, I found my new life in Vancouver was abundant, meaningful and hopeful. Therefore I also invited others to volunteer with Light and Love Home. One of them was an international student. Before he knew us, he once had suicide thoughts. However, when he volunteered for the children summer day camp and joined the church meeting, he found the way out of darkness and became cheerful and hopeful. I found that Light and Love Home is not only somewhere that provides community services, but this is a home where people found themselves are well loved and have hope in their lives!

In the past 7 years that I have been involved, the services and programs that Light and Love Home provides has given me, as well as many others, positive life changing experiences. We need to keep what they are doing and continue to support their growth to help even more people!!
