THIS PETITION was started in 2010 , with your help ... 5 POINTZ is still standing.

The treat is back stronger than ever, to a lot of questions you are asking I do not have the answers :

is this true ?

the press and the landlord claim that demolition permit have been issued , yet when you check the city department of housing online , no permit are showing.

the press claims that David Wolkoff presented the project to the CB2 community board yet the minutes are not available on line and it states that their attorney presented the project

5 Pointz was created by artists for the people , we are the 99% against the 1% and history has shown that we are defeated more than often , yet as one we are nothing as an army of ones we CAN ..

sign the petition express what this place means to you ... the landlord could have revenues with this location , it could be a museum an event space ... he has generated revenues with major movies being shot, editorial tv shows to name a few ...

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE SHARE THIS PETITION , EXPLAIN WHO U ARE WHERE YOU ARE FROM and the local politicians will have to listen ...

thank you 5 Pointz keep the lights on ..

I keep refreshing the page because the sheer amount of energy behind this feels completely wild and honestly I am just trying to process how many people actually care about saving these walls. It just blows my mind that we are seeing this kind of movement when everything felt so quiet and ignored only a short time ago.

A thousand people actually signed this thing and I am honestly shaking a little because I thought I was just yelling into the void about the permits. It feels like we might actually have a pulse here even though the landlord is acting like this place is already ghost dust and I keep checking the city website for updates that never appear.

One hundred signatures on the board already and honestly my head is spinning a bit because I just started this on a whim. The city records are a total labyrinth so thank you for sticking with me while I hunt down the real answers about these permits because this place is worth the fight.

Destroying areas like this is what's wrong with the inner cities now..your giving the youth no options..taking away sports programs, arts and music in schools,etc..what's left?!gangs?drugs?violence?!they need to be able to express themselves..constructively rather than destructively

Graffiti is part of New York's history, and a big reason I like to visit there. New York needs more public space dedicated to art, not more fancy high rises. I've never seen 5 Pointz in person, but I'd love to, it is a tourist attraction, high rises are not. Don't demolish something the city is famous for to build more boring apartments.

5Pointz is a part of history, a part of the Hip-Hop culture worldwide. My first trip to New York as a french DJ, 5 Pointz was one of the first place I've been visiting, before any other monument. 5Pointz has to stay!

Shame to them! Museum of the urban art, well known everywhere in the world, you are playing against yourself by doing these acts instead of working with it (I know what I say, I'm an architect student, and I DISAPPROVE the way your(s) is/are using the concept of CONTEXT! Shame on you again!

This is a thrilling vision every day when I ride the train. It was also the site of my first art studio.I doubt there is another like in in the world--it is true and uniquely NEW YORK.It should be preserved, and the building updated.

Once you destroy something, you can't bring it back. NYC is my home and I think it's beautiful we have places like 5pointz to characterize our world. Remember when the city destroyed Penn Station to build MSG? Let's learn from our mistakes and stop destroying beautiful things in order to enhance the already hefty income of the 1%.
