Stand in Support of Vision Zero

Growth has increased frustration, impatience and pure recklessness on our roads. Better policing? Cameras? No right turn on red? Longer pedestrian light signals, please!!

I wofor Uber Eats on my Bycicle for 8hrs a day everyday and I realize how dangerous the streets really are for Pedestrians, Handicapped and Cyclist. I want safe, off-the-main-road bicycle lanes and pedestrian walkways to reduce the chance of people getting run over and killed.

We need sidewalks. Our students walk to school on roads with no sidewalks. They are walking targets walking in streets, around parked cars, around trash cans, around leaf piles, snow piles, construction vehicles. All students in Fairfax County that don't have sidewalk receive bus service. Our students have no sense of what is a safe distance from the road due to the lack of sidewalks.

Pass this immediately- we cannot live in such an unsafe place for pedestrians! We need to keep our children safe and environment conducive to outdoor exercise.

Blair Circle at the DC/Silver Spring border has been a hazard for years. Please help DC signalize and stabilize this intersection

In addition, we could reduce the number of simultaneous construction projects by limiting to 1 per .25 mile radius.

Thank you to those working towards a safer and more climate-friendly Montgomery County, MD. As a resident of downtown Bethesda, I am wondering if we could make more areas of Bethesda pedestrian/under-20 mph vehicle-only and divert traffic around the downtown area? Perhaps other downtown areas of MoCo could adopt this strategy as well? In the non-pedestrian-only zones, perhaps there could be 3 types of lanes according to speed of travel: 1) Pedestrians, skateboards non-electric scooters, etc. 2) Bikes, electric scooters, electric go-carts, golf carts, rickshaws etc. 3) Cars, trucks and other large vehicles. Thank you for considering these ideas in our longterm planning for our County. Thank you for your transportation safety and sustainability leadership!

We all need to slow down and be more intentional about safety.

Bus stops should be easily accessible and well lighted. Bus schedules should be maintained even if it means reducing auto lanes and having bus traffic light protection.

Street redesign is great, but takes years. Let's start enforcing the traffic laws immediately.

I walk, bicycle, and drive. Although I received a ticket in NYC for crossing a crosswalk with a pedestrian in it (who wasn't close), I feel that this type of program is essential.

Vision Zero NOW - Its should not be normal for 1-2 people to be killed by drivers monthly in MoCo - it should not be normal for 1.5 persons DAILY to be injured by drivers in MoCo.

Our new development must take Vision Zero into account. We have to hold developers to high standards: to provide pedestrian walkways during construction; to provide pedestrian and cylist-friendly roads after construction, and to insist on safe, well-lit intersections. This is so basic elsewhere. But it's a huge leap for Montgomery County. Expect a lot of pushback.

We know what needs to be done, it's just the political will to do it. What does it take?

We should invest our resources in pedestrian and bicyclist safety, not more incentives for pollutant cars.

We can do this. We MUST do this. Let’s keep everyone safe.

The walk signs on Rockville Pike don't last long enough for the elderly, disabled, people pushing strollers or walking with small children.

Safety first. Invest in separate Pedestrian and being cycle paths apart from Cars and trucks Expand public transportation so more people leave their cars at home. Give Student discounts so kids learn early how to use Public transportation and realize its value to our communities and environment.
