I used to run a couple of stores on Government St and often cruise ship passengers said they only disembark ed here because they wanted to see the harbourfront entertainers.

We come to Victoria from Oregon once a year, and have for 25 years. The causeway buskers are something we always look forward to. It is part of the culture that makes Victoria unique!

buskers play a crucial role in urban daily life, by adding vitality, culture, safety and entertainment in the public realm, and should be encouraged and celebrated rather than discouraged or even excluded from public space management.

Its world famous for its buskin scene.its one of those things if it was lost it would effect all of greater victoria.I guess without it the words of joni mitchell would echo "they tore paradise and they put up a parking lot".
