We owe the people that we serve providers and ancillary staff who are not overworked
Equity in pay is smart for the organization because we get quality candidates who are hard-working and can serve our population
Also when we are fully invested with our staff there is less likelihood for mistakes due to people being overtired and trying to do more than they can humanly possibly do
In our effort to be resilient in this crisis, patient care is suffering and it’s just a matter of time before a devastating mistake happens
If we cannot provide equitable pay to get quality candidates it is likely our organization will eventually implode
Our patients deserve better
Our staff deserves better
Equitable pay makes us a better organization
We are slowly bleeding out and the solutions to date have been a Band-Aid on a bullet hole
Covid crisis has made a bleeding wound fester
A competitive wage would go a long way to making our organization healthy again

We are in crisis and without support we are going. to spiral into nothing. Our organization is bleeding out and the bandages being placed on our staffing wound is like a bandaid for a bullet hole. We do not want a free lunch we do not want to "just be resilient." The degree of resilience we are displaying is not sustainable. If providers are having to do the work of ancillary staff to see patients, VGMHC is wasting Money. I am an expensive PCC. We are having to do more work in our off hours. The staff we Mohave is tired. and my biggest concern is that we are going to start making serious mistakes and patients are going to suffer. We are not going to get quality staff without equitable financial compensation.

Its so frustrating that admin has resisted such a clear and obvious solution to our staffing shortages.

1000% agree with Lisa's comment - if we don't get closer to the prevailing wage for MAs and RNs in our region, we will be in this situation for all time. I've lost an MA over an offer of an extra $1/hr at an outside clinic, when she didn't even want to leave VG, but had to in order to do better for her family. This has been an issue for years, even prior to the current staffing crunch. VG needs to change this!

This is so necessary. Also please pay our PCCs and RNs more to be equal to pay in other local orgs. Pay them a living wage
I support this.
