It is imperative that Towson recreational space be fairly funded by developers who enter our community with the express intention to make a profit. Such developments increase population density, which only increases the number of residents seeking open space. That Towson is the county seat -- yet has a scarcity of playing fields in such poor condition -- is unacceptable. I recognize so many of the undersigned, and know that they are active, concerned citizens who vote! Should our elected officials not attend to the needs of the community, it will certainly be remembered at the ballot box. Please remember that you were elected to serve the community, not developers who have deep enough pockets to contribute MORE to our quality of life, Open space fees must be raised to a fair level, NEVER reduced, and NEVER WAIVED!

As a soccer coach and LAX dad, we are in desperate need of decent fields in the area. Please help.

The Council and County Executive should follow the lead of Judge Beverungen in applying appropriate open space waiver fees for all proposed developments in Towson.

Supporting our neighborhoods also means a cessation of development in Towson. Far too much development, unfriendly to residential communities, has taken place, the quality of life for residents has deteriorated. Long term residents are fleeing Towson. Crime levels are up with the infusion of unregulated TU renters. The criminals who prey on students with their itinerant lifestyles and hours have moved into Towson destroying once safe and peaceful neighborhoods. University related fraternities in our neighborhoods, are driving out long time residents. They are utterly unregulated and no action is taken against their disturbance of our neighborhoods. Police helicopters disturb evening after evening, and night after night, and are indicative of the rise in the level of crime which is the result of thoughtless overdevelopment. The county council wanted a "24 hour town", and we have it. We have become another Baltimore City. Who thought that was a good idea?

This will be my singular issue in the next election and I hope it becomes a tipping point for the next board.

I am curious to know what recent waivers have occurred and what the justification was.

I can't believe how long this has not been being enforced. The council should be ashamed at their dereliction of duty to families in this community.
