I believe our employer should encourage professional development by offering clinical supervision for employees. It is essential for Social Workers to have the clinical support provided by this type of supervision.

It is unfortunate that an organization does not offer supervision AND some managers and supervisors stand in the way of a social worker from seeking supervision on their own. It is in their interest for social workers to seek further training and growth so that they may be able to provide better patient care. What does it say about an organization that stands in the way of a social worker to improve their training and knowledge. Actions speak louder than words.

I believe everyone should have the opportunity to reach the highest possible success they can attain. being able to get their LCSW opens up many more opportunities.

Not providing clinical supervision is a poor policy for all involved, from workers to patients, and shareholders. The orgainzation is effectively giving the social workers ZERO chance to advance professionally in their field. This has an impact not only on career, but motivation and culture.
