These kinds of clubs fix the problems with guns, while ignorance perpetuates them. An educational institute should support the goal of making their students as informed as possible. This club is just another way to do that.

Great, safe sport. I am an assistant coach for Lexington Catholic High School Trapshooting Team. Kids are having fun, building confidence and skill. These will be our future leaders.

My name, Jackie Crawford, was not supposed to be on this list. I definitely do not support having guns on campus or involvement with the NRA. A college campus is one of the last places I want to see a gun. And to take money from the academic programs for a full time shooting coach defies logic. Please reconsider this decision; save money for academics and keep our campus safe. While this has been promoted as a recruiting tactic, I can tell you that there are many parents who would not allow their children to an expensive, private school if students have guns there. Whatever number of students we might recruit because of the gun access, I believe there will be many more students who won't choose or be allowed to go to a school that encourages the NRA and encourages students to bring their guns to campus. I know I wouldn't have let my daughters attend such a school. If the NRA weren't such a huge and wealthy lobby group, our country would not be faced with so many killings on college campuses, at elementary schools, churches, at random citizens, etc. NRA is a big part of the problem. PS Please delete my name from this proposal!

To th members of the board of trustees, I think it would be a wise move to continue supporting the shooting sports club. Not only do shooting sports foster teamwork, it also gives a healthy dose of respect and builds on a solid foundation of self discipline. Hopefully you can see the value in this club. Thank you for your time.

I don't own a weapon of any sort but take no issue with this at all. I think we should encourage growth of students in this fine school and this is a great way to do just that. Hire two coaches for crying out loud!

Please officially support the Simpson College Shooting Club. It's a great way to introduce young adults to the proper use and care of firearms, plus it's a great way to teach the values of teamwork to students that might not be interested in participating in the traditional sports.

I have three boys in shooting sports one going to Iowa Central one of the reasons he went there was for shooting he's not what some would call a athlete but through this he is don't close there door on other potential athletes.

These events go over gun safety before every event. Our school has Trap Shooting and NEVER had a problem with guns!!

This shooting club is an excellent athletic opportunity for a huge and wide range of students. The shooting sports are also an excellent opportunity to teach and support individual responsibility.

Stop the anti-gun nut wackos. We should have shooting clubs on all campuses in the US to teach safe firearms handling and promote healthy competition. My father was on a rifle team in high school..... in NEW YORK CITY.... but that was back in the 1930's when America was free.
