Education is a great way to promote gun safety! Pair that with the inherent increased self-worth that accompanies competitive sports and this is a no-brainer!

As a 2005 alum of SC, I stand firmly in the support of the SC shooting program. I was an active hunter and recreational shooter while on campus 2001-05 and have become an active competitive shooter since graduating. I wished the program was around back when I was on campus.

I support 100% to expand the program, teaching youth a sport that they can continue to enjoy for years to come in a safe and competitive atmosphere is a must. To not support it would be a shame it is a sport that every kid can do not just a few. It also gives the kids that don't participate in regular school activities a chance to be proud of their school for letting them participate. Please let me know if you have any questions I hope whoever is against this realizes they are hurting not only their school but turning their back on their future alumni!!!

As president of the Ankeny Izaak Walton League, we started a high school shooting sports club where the students can earn "letters". The Ankeny high schools compete state wide, concluding each season at a State tournament. It would be a shame if they would have to go to a State funded school like Iowa State University to continue the sport after high school.

I've watched the Simpson college team shoot 5 stand sporting clays at the Banner range. I was impressed! I wish Simpson had a shooting team when I was there!!

I am a pro gun control liberal, who is inrerested in only keeping guns out of criminal hands. I have shot skeet in the past and enjoyed it. Part of the gun training I had during that period in my life was respect for the gun, which can only be taught in an environment such as this club.

Congratulations on starting this program for young people. Having started my young son in the shooting sports years ago,I strongly feel it has played a significant part in his maturing into a responsible, productive, successful member of society.

I strongly support the scholastic shooting teams in Iowa high schools and colleges. The competitors have shown exemplary attitude and promise as well as the highest level of skill and competitive spirit.
