Our school has a shooting team. Even the 10 year olds can compete. I am a range safety officer, and program is well run and safe. If it were not I would not let my grandson participate. If you have not been to a practice or a meet you must do so. Safer than your football program. My son is a Simpson graduate. He would have been on your team if you had one.

My son Michael is a Sophomore on the North Scott trap team. He and his mother are planning on attending the Iowa private schools campus visits this year. If you don't have a shooting team, I'm afraid your off the list.

This is paramount to continue this education in this day and age. It is an opportunity to educate our young people about safe use of firearms and our Heritage as law abiding citizens of our Country. I feel it is important for young people to get this education and be able to participate in a team sport!

As a shooting sports coach and a police officer I am in support of keeping the shooting club. Shooting clubs teacher variety of hbits from safety, to gun etiquette, responsibility and team spirit. It allows an avenue for non-athletes to engage in valuable social and club interactions that will follow them into their careers. This should not be a gun issue, but a opportunity to build and strengthen tomorrow's leaders.

This is a great activity for all ages and shows a great deal of pride with in the school. Look around at all the college's (local and country wide) that have teams and Olympic training as well.

Glenwood High School started a Trap Club in 2011. In 2015 we took 25 shooters to the Iowa State tournament in Cedar Falls. Excellent students and citizens. We have to limit the number of participants to available range time and coach availability. Graduates are looking to continue at the college level.

There are 100's of Colleges across the country with shooting programs including Purdue, Clemson, Harvard and Jacksonville University to name a few. The shooting programs teach Respect & Responsibility while developing our youth into productive citizens of society. We strongly support Simpson College and their Shooting Sports Club!

I grew up shooting trap with my grandfather, became a federal agent, and now coaching the Bettendorf High School trap team. Shooting sports are a great piece of American history and it will continue.

I am the head coach of the Maquoketa HS trap team. By not offering a shooting team, Simpson College would limit the number of students that would even consider attending Simpson. The shooting sports are THE fastest growing sports in the nation, and the safest. No shooting athlete has ever been side lined with a concussion, there are no broken bones, no torn ligaments requiring surgeries or therapy. These kids are taught from the very beginning the safe handling of guns, it is ingrained in them.
