I don't think taking away that student organization would be a good or even logocal idea.

As a father, shooting enthusiast and SCTP coach, I believe we should strive to open doors for young people to become involved in the lifetime sport of shooting, not close them.

Shooting sports is about responsible use of firearms. We need more activities that promote safety and responsibility such as this.

Shooting Sports have been a great motivation for my son to do well in school. He wants to shoot in college and hopes that his scores in combination with his good grades will help him reaching that goal.

A collegiate shooting club is a wholesome activity that provides a student the opportunity to improve their hand and eye coordination, compete against others in sanctioned competitions and expose students to a sport they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. It can and has been done safely for many years in many schools. I urge you to not fall prey to those pushing a political agenda. Peter M. Lester, former Administrator, New Hampshire Hunter Education Program

There is nothing wrong with learning too shoot, and understanding the safety aspects is part of this club. It is useful to criminal justice majors, and other professions who will be around weapons. Getting rid of this club would be a mistake.

The largest and fastest growing sport in Iowa is trap shooting. Many high schools throughout the state have more students out for trap than most other sports. The choice by Simpson alumnus to pressure the Simpson President to disband this shooting club is narrow-minded and useless. Taking this great program away from your students simply encourages them to look elsewhere for an education, but does nothing to enhance safety on the Simpson campus.

I fully support the Shooting Club. I'm disappointed in the people who are confused with the issues of gun control and gun violence. This a sport - students are not walking around on campus with guns. Why not talk to the students who are actually involved with the club before jumping to conclusions.

As a former Hunter Education instructor, I commend Simpson and its program. Anyone that teaches safe shooting and getting outside is great

I fully suport the Shooting Sports Club of Simpson college. This sport has a number of high school and college teams around the state and nation.

Removing guns from the hands of citizen students only makes them more vulnerable and less safe.
