I competed with the Iowa State University Trap and Skeet team while attending college. I can not agree more with every word of this petition.

Why should someone living in D.C. have any say over what this school does?

As the president of the Iowa State Rifle and Pistol Club, my experience from competing against the Simpson College Shooting Team has been nothing but positive. They are a safe, professional team with excellent sportsmanship. There is absolutely no reason to disband or punish them in anyway.

Our trap shooting team had more than doubled last year. Over 3,000 students looking to continue their skills in the sport shooting program in Iowa alone. We are a letter sport in our school district and our students are looking for colleges that are offering scholarships in this sport. On is the time to capitalize on this trend not reverse your progress.
I am one of our 6 Middle School Coaches for Hampton Dumont Community School Burd Busters Trap Shooting Program. We have as many coaches for our High School team as well.
Sincerely, Rex Carr

Please add my name to the supporters of the Simpson College Shooting Sports Club. As a former Carroll Iowa person and Morningside College graduate I fully support the shooting sports as provided by Simpson College. I have been a lifetime shooter currently retired in Arizona and still shooting clay targets for my retirement sport. It is a great hobby and fully encourage Simpson College to support this endeavor.

This is important as a life long sport. I also helped teach the first Hunter Education (gun safety) course for this group.

As a 2009 Graduate and avid hunter, I would have loved to participate in a group like this had it been around at the time. The more people who are trained and knowledgeable about firearms the better.

I myself will most likely never own a gun in my own home (I'm a horrible shot). But I enjoy shooting targets at my in-laws farm though. A shooting club at Simpson College doesn't sound like an issue at all. Plenty of campuses large an small have them. It sounds like a very responsible club and a great opportunity for students to participate in activities that encourages personal growth.

I fully support and organization, college, or club that teach young people how to safely, and properly use a firearm. This is helping to teach about our second amendment right, and protecting law abiding citizens from the criminals.

I was/am involved with the college program in Massachusetts. There were 3 of us with 3 representatives from MIT and Harvard that originated it with helping grants from the NSSF. It continues on its own today with participants from all points of the world. Good luck with your program.
