I am a life long resident of Indianola and work in the criminal justice field. Simpson is a well respected and vital part of the community. The College not only enriches the education of its students by offering a vast array of education and opportunities but it also does the same for the greater community. My hope is that Simpson chooses to maintain and to strengthen the opportunity for collegiate shooting sports.

This sport is the only sport that both my boys have been interested in during high school. What a great program.

I attended Simpson from 1985 to 1986 and would have LOVED to been able to participate in a club like this that is a non-traditional sport.

More people are injured with contact sports than shooting. Correct use and the teaching of respect of firearms helps to releave the phobia of firearms

The fact that someone out of pure emotion wants to tell these boys and girls how to live their lives in such a way is horrendous and completely un-American. I truly hope the board does not give in to this fear-mongering and allows the students to have a fully fledged club/ organization that can continue this wonderful sport. It seems that this is the likely course of action, and I applaud any and all support on behalf of the school and the club to introduce a full-time coach for the team.

I find it unbelievable that this petition tryed to use fear as a means of banning something that is truly a fast growing sport in high schools and colleges around the the country that teaches proper handling and skill that more people out to learn before judging others Most all the maass Shooting have one thing in common besides guns. Political correctness has gone too far. While I respect Pastor Becky's position (a friend of mine), I believe in the diversity of subjects and activities that any higher education institution has or plans to have as long as there is no hidden agenda. Political affiliation by supporters and donors of those diverse programs should NOT have any bearing on any decision.
I am the God and Country Course Director and Chairman for the Missouri Confetence of the UMC, and I support the club and the decision to hire a coach.

I think the teaching of safe and responsible use of firearms is very important.
