The Silver Chariot of the Nattukottai Chettiar Temple Trustees is NOT THE PENANG THANEERMALAI MURUGAN'S CHARIOT.
THE SILVER CHARIOT LEAVES FROM A PRIVATE HOUSE (KOVIL VEEDU) AND ARRIVE AT THE TEMPLE BELONGS TO THE TRUSTEES AND NOT AT THE WATERFALL (THANEERMALAI) MURUGAN AS LOT OF PEOPLE BELIEVE!
In any Thaipusam, the chariot carrying the "VEL" will leave from Amman Temple to kick off the Thaipusam festival celebrations. It is the same in any Murugan temple in the world; even in Pazhani Murugan Temple.
Now when the PHEB decided to restore the original tradition of VEL procession on the chariot, the Chettiar Temple Trustees want to sabotage it, by saying it will lead to confusion.
THERE ARE NO CONFUSIONS AMONG PENANG INDIANS. FINALLY, THE THANEERMALAI MURUGAN'S VEL WILL ARRIVE ON THAIPUSAM DAY ON A CHARIOT LIKE IN ANY OTHER THAIPUSAM CELEBRATIONS. WHY THE CHETTIARS WANT TO SABOTAGE THAT TRADITION?! OF THEY THINK THERE WILL BE CONFUSION, IT SHOULD BE THE NATTUKOTTAI CHETTIARS ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD CHANGE THEIR ROUTES AND NOT THE THANEERMALAI MURUGAN!

I am currently consolidating our formal arguments to present directly to the Penang Hindu Endowments Board regarding the chariot tradition. Multiple press outlets have contacted me for clarification on the historical discrepancies involved in this route dispute. Expect a summary of the next procedural meeting once the board confirms our request for a hearing.

The Vel personifies a Hindu in all his Virtues, thoughts and deeds. It has been long denied its rightful significance. Let it start its journey not only for Hindus but mankind's posterity.
I fully support the golden chariot for Thaipusam. The silver chariot procession used to be called "Chetty Pusam". Why bring in caste for such an auspicious religious festival. Down with the caste system. Great job done by DCM Prof. Ramasamy.
The Penang Hindus must celebrate this Golden Chariot as the history making of their faith and community achievement. I will travel 500 kilometres to see this grandeur.
I truly support PHEB on the issue of the golden chariot.We as Tamils need an identity and not simply let the Chettiars dictate terms. Golden Chariot will give the Penang Tamils a sense of dignity.Thanks to PHEB n Prof Ramasamy.
Lord murugan didn't say only chettier only can hold the vel , can come along the gold chariot and do the celebration . Boz of you guys other religions also laughed at us . Stop bring caste between human and god ... after die chettiar or thevar go same grave yard... as I know I don't think there is special grave for upper caste ...

Yes I agreed that we are local Malaysian indian need golden chariot belong to penang makkal.Chettiar they invested here bring profits to india and share with their communities.Here we spent RM1 for individual to buy golden chariot it will serve for our next generation.Be support penang golden chariot, my whole family vote for golden chariot.
