We just attended a horse show at the Iowa Equestrian Center at Kirkwood. Animal rights zealots are out of control and pushing their agenda little by little to eliminate all enjoyment of animals and animal ownership. There are abusive people everywhere, people that abuse children, senior citizens and animals. Eliminating an American tradition because of a small minority of loud voices will not change that. Please continue to fund this wholesome family oriented activity!!!

I will always support rodeo and 4H. Several of the NFR qualifiers this year were people from other countries!

Rodeo and 4-H had a huge impact on my life, teaching me responsibility, allowing me to meet diverse people, instilling a strong work ethic and a love of learning. 4-H and rodeo are for all people and some of the most welcoming organizations. I was town kid, not born into a rodeo family, but because I showed an interest I was taken under the wing of several cowboys and given an opportunity to live a dream. Keep 4-H and rodeo alive!

Our kids grew up on a farm. They were in 4h and FFA. Now they have great jobs and are productive citizens of our United States!!

This is crazy! 4H and youth rodeo give kids something to do that is good. It teaches compassion and responsibility! If you want to get rid of something ban video games that teach killing

Rodeo is a wonderful way for kids and families to learn sportsmanship, and how to be great people and citizens. It teaches kids how to be respectful and responsible!

Very disappointed Iowa would even let this be an issue. FFA, 4H, Rodeo, all about welfare and safety of animals. Maybe Johnson County needs to check with DesMoines and are how much revenue was brought to that town for two years when they hosted the National Jr High Rodeo Finals for a week? Coming back next year...

4-H, FFA and Livestock events are a HUGE part of creating great kids. Gives them responsibility and hard work to create a child who will grow into a great adult.

This is absolutely ridiculous that this is even being declined. People complain about today's youth being hell raisers, i assure you that these groups of kids that tend to animals and participate in yhis kind of lifestyle are not the ones we need to worry about.

Support youth livestock events. These kids work hard and learn many skills that carry over into adult life. Real skills. Keeps kids busy and off the Streets. We need more of this instead of left. Rodeo is open to all kids.

Please research this as it clearly hasnt been yet. Some of the top calf ropers in the world are African American. My (white) son's hero is Fred Whitfield. Some if not MOST of the top bull riders in the world are African American as well as Venezuelan. The equine/rodeo culture in South America is steep in tradition. This is NOT a white sport. Why ban a sport that encourages ALL races? Why diminish 4H when the repercussions will be less peoe educated about where their food comes from, nutrients needed to grow it and less future farmets to feed our world?! What do you think will happrn to the human population without them?! Their future starts in 4H! Why ban or not support a youth group that instills in its members to do whats best for "our club, our communoty, our country and our world." Thats literally their motto! A club that requires its kids to do community service and learn what its like to do for others in a world full of "whats in it for me?" mentality? 4H is one of the most underrated clubs in the nation. Its a progressive forward thinking club that has added robotics as well as other areas of focus to try to draw in kids from all locations, income levels and races. What other nationwide club has done that?

I grew up in the rodeo world. I’ve met people of all race a skin color. Those should not matter or be a factor of rodeo. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like you will always be welcomed and helped. If they want more people to join shouldn’t they make rodeo more know, give children more opportunities to get to know rodeo and the love that surrounds it.
