Homeless people need a safe to go, and I think that a shelter would be good for the community. So many are suffering these days.

Why is it so hard for the powers that be to let the community take care of each other? These people deserve the assistance and we have people that want to help them. LET THEM GET THE HELP THEY DESERVE!

I am a Fourth Ward resident and own a home 3 blocks away from the proposed site. Fortitude has proven time and time again that they are capable of safely serving a population that is in desperate need of service. Our neighbors deserve a place of dignity to be housed overnight and provided resources/opportunities to support growth in their lives.

An opportunity to help the needy should never b overlooked. This project encourages finding a job, being able to have their own place to live supporting themselves and education in doing so.

I live just a bit north, in the 3rd Ward. We know from experience with the temporary shelter at the church in our ward how well Fortitude does with keeping things in order. They are great neighbors. Great organization, and a permanent shelter is greatly needed in Kankakee. I urge our 3rd Ward Aldermen to vote to approve this.

Permanent housing, coupled with supportive services, is the best way to end homelessness, many individuals and families need short-term stabilization before they can find housing that will meet their long term needs. Please pass this so people can get the help they need!

As a homeowner, resident and voter in the City of Kankakee's 4th Ward, I am in total agreement with this amazing project that seeks to give a lending hand to the "least of these." May God continue to bless this amazing organization.

Fortitude Community Outreach provides quality services with a high level of integrity. Their history is solid, proven and heavily supported. They partner with all other social service agencies to ensure a wholistic approach to changing lives of people in need. Our community desperately needs this shelter! We have no other options to prevent people from being in the freezing cold and possibly dying on the streets. This request for shelter is to meet basic human needs with compassion and integrity.
