Show Support for the Fortitude Shelter S. Fourth Site Approval

Our community desperately needs a shelter for people who are experiencing homelessness. I am a Social Worker and I see the need for this on a daily basis.

It is beyond me how anyone could oppose a shelter for homeless men, women and children.

I may not live in Kankakee, but I do support this ministry and have been a frequent donor.

We need a place for homeless to go peoples lives get hard and they have to start over. They lose every thing and have to start from the bottom but should that bottom be so low they can’t recover from it? We need to help people who need us some don’t have family or anyone to lean on they should at the very least be able to count on their community I mean the rest of the world counts on them to be get their life together, but that’s a daunting task all by yourself.

All the people in our community are valuable! Give our community a permanent shelter that will help so many....maybe even YOU!

As a social service provider that serves Kankakee County and provides funding for services in Kankakee, the need for housing and housing services is one of the largest needs we see and have documented in needs assessment.

Let them create a shelter on S. 4th st. Homeless are human beings who deserve better than to be left on the street!!!

This shelter is very much needed and will be a help to the community.

Please help Fortitude provide shelter for our Kankakee homeless. We need to care for everyone on our community. Make this city a model for our state and country!

This an absolutely essential need for a community, especially in times of financial hardship. Its shameful that this has been met with so much opposition.

Here is hoping Kankakee has the fortitude to say yes and support this much needed community resource.
