I support this group and the purchase of the church for a homeless shelter

We need this shelter!

Fortitude is such an amazing organization

Humans deserve the shelter and love. Living in alleys only increases crime rates and the inability to clean Kankakee.

We need a place for Jesus.

We cannot turn our backs on these people in need

I agree with all that is being said to support a local community site for those experiencing homelessness. They are our neighbors!

If I lived in the 4th Ward I would 100% Support the Shelter. Why would anyone be against helping people? Doesn't make sense. People talk the talk, but very few can walk the walk.

My father had lost his job, battle with alcoholism, his home and his wife (through divorce) all within the last 3 years. He needs this compassion like many others before and after him. Thank you!

Please support the critical need of a dedicated and permanent home for those who don't have one! Please don't ignore those who are misfortunate, in favor of revenue or rental space. If the community leaders and board members can support pawn shops, liquor stores, and gas stations with video poker, then they damn sure can't complain about the homeless. Please be part of the solution, or be part of the problem. People are struggling needlessly.

Good people helping good people. Make it so!

This program has a good record of service to the homeless while co-existing safely in the community.

I don't live in the county, however I do support the shelter. I believe God has given us directions to clothe and feed the needy. We are to be compassionate and share our blessings with the less fortunate. No one should have to live wonderingly where their next feel will come from or worry they may die from the weather elements. As we all sit in our cozy homes with pantries stocked think about the less fortunate. I pray the 4th ward will be compassionate and approve the shelter

I volunteer at Fortitude and I have seen firsthand the need for a permanent shelter site. The organization is well ran and having a shelter in the 4th ward will not impact the neighborhood in a negative way. The guests that stay at the shelter follow the rules as well as respect them. “ Do unto others as you would have done unto you”,
