We, the undersigned of the town of East Hampton, petition the Board of Finance and additionally the Town Council to send the 2017-18 Education Budget to voter referendum without reduction.
The integrity of the bifurcated budget requires that taxpayers are allowed to vote on the approved Education Budget that was unanimously adopted by the Board of Education on 2/28/2017.
We believe that the budget as adopted is reasonable, conservative and responsible, therefore we insist that this Education Budget is presented to the voters of East Hampton at referendum without any changes to the proposed 3.75% increase. Let the people decide!

checking the numbers today was wild because i honestly didnt think we would get this much traction so fast. knowing so many of you want this budget on the ballot is exactly the push we needed to keep going.

We moved here 3 years ago in part for the schools, as we are now looking to move, the schools and the budget provided will weigh heavily on wether we stay in eh or look at another town. I hope we can stay here, please keep the schools a priority, my 3 children depend on it!

As a retired senior citizen and 45 year resident of East Hampton I enthusiastically support the Board of Education Budget 17-18. Some senior citizens paid for my education and the education of my 4 children who attended East Hampton public schools. Now its my turn!
The voters should be able to vote on the education budget without reductions or oversight from any boards other than the BOE itself.
