Support the development of affordable/workforce housing on the Suzuki Property

Our family supports the development of affordable housing on Bainbridge Island. Please consider the HRB proposal. We need all people here on the island, not just those with high incomes, despite what some of those high income earners think. Who will teach their children, patrol their streets, put out fires, bus their dishes when they dine out, check out their groceries????

I support the ned for affordable housing on the Suzuki property.I would like to also support the design to consider considerate environmental policies to preserve the habitat and natural history of the propeerty.

It's absolutely essential for our community to continue sourcing affordable housing opportunities. The need for affordable housing will never go away.

My great great grandparents settled on Bainbridge Island and I father spent the summers at their home. I was raised in Edmonds. Why is it that I cannot afford to live in the places I call home? I work full time and have supported children mostly on my own all their lives. Why am I excluded or others like me? Each time I go to the island, I feel a pull, as if my Norwegian grandfather in his fishing boat were saying come home.

Living on Social Security, with a large companion dog, is challenging enough in terms of finding affordable housing. If people don't want the poor to live on BI, they should just post a sign at the ferry terminal and make it crystal clear.

We absolutley need more opportunities for affordable housing on the island.

It is very important that Bainbridge make affordable housing possible. The generous gift of the Suzuki family to the Island should be honored by making sure that both affordable housing and green open space be preserved on the Island.

Without City support for affordable housing, Bainbridge won't have enough affordable homes for teachers, business employees, police and fire responders who work here.

I grew up on Bainbridge and after college I chose to purchase a home elsewhere because of the expense. I have many friends who are assets to the Bainbridge community who have been "priced out" of living there (teachers, artists, writers, culinary artist). Affordable housing is part of what creates healthy biodiversity in any community.

I am employed on Bainbridge Island and have a vested interest in the community.
