Both of my children graduated from the Traverse City schools. They were given wonderful opportunities through the years and had hard working and caring teachers. I support the teachers.

Our professional teaching staff is second to none and deserve our full support. I have retired from teaching in Traverse City in 2002. I taught in Traverse City for over thirty years. It was the respect and feeling that you had being a teacher in Traverse City that motivated you to remain in Traverse City, instead of transferring to one of my friend's districts that paid thousands of dollars more per year while teaching and continuing in your retirement years. I don't think you can retain outstanding teachers in Traverse City if you keep their salaries low and then don't give them the respect and show them The appreciation they deserve for such an important position. I don't know how we can expect to keep quality educators in our area unless we pay them what they are worth and show them the appreciation they deserve for doing such a fantastic job with our kids and grandchildren.

My 3 children have always had amazing teachers in TCAPS. Most citizens have no idea of what it takes to do this important ans difficult profession. I am very disappointed in the way TCAPS have treated their staff. This last move to use a failed millage as a tool in negotiations in shamefull.

I am extremely concerned w/ the current attack on the public schools in this country, and I am especially concerned with teacher morale in TC. I will ncourage my friends and associates to sign this petition and contact our Board of eduycation. There seems to be n unending budget that is being spent on new programs and administrative salaries and benefits.

Education is the heart of all communities! It is irresponsible for negotiations to last more than one year! Employees are not asking to break the bank.
