I highly support a change in the current plans for development of the Suzuki property. Placing 30 homes on 13.83 acres is not realistic.

Be fair to our neighborhood. We all purchased our homes with the current zoning restrictions and don't want to see them changed!!!

I strongly support this petition. If the Suzuki wildlife corridor must be developed, development needs to be limited to no more than 30 single-family homes to preserve the environment going forward, limit traffic in an already congested area and school zone and keep the small town feel many of us live here!

I am very concerned about traffic in an already dense school zone area (please try and drive here around 3pm) as well as the impact on our water system.

A high-density development of the Suzuki Property shouldn't be the single option pursued by the Bainbridge City Council. Some would argue that there exist reasonable considerations that suggest the particular parcel ought not be given over to housing development under any circumstances. Others believe, as I do, that options that balance healthy community growth, responsible resource management, preservation of natural wildlife corridors, existing neighborhood quality of life and filling needs other than housing (such as, reserving the property for expansion of our schools, artist space, a performing arts center and maintenance of a pristine forested greenbelt should be legitimately explored along with affordable housing options.

Please take into account all the relevant factors in considering the use of this wonderful Suzuki property. Namely, water, wildlife and traffic congestion. For example, traffic at Madison and Wyatt Way is already a nightmare and the expansion of the Grow Project isn't even finished yet!

I noted that in your packets, citizen's over and over wanted you to protect this city owned property. Instead, staff want you to sell it. I looked at the proposals and they would all decimate this property.
Could you consider selling only part of it, preserving the pond and wetland areas? Could you sell only to HRB for low income housing?
Council's job is to positively respond to Citizens and a recognition of what citizens want for the property "they own" would go a long way to demonstrating that council members respect and respond to citizen desires. Please, take the position that the property should be protected from extreme growth for expensive housing.

The Suzuki property is 14 acres of pristine forest, home to many species of birds, as well as otters, foxes, coyotes, frogs, and deer. It would be sad for this community to see yet another forest on Bainbridge felled -- recently we have seen Visconsi and the Wyatt developments raze several acres and the community is reeling from the losses of these scenic, natural byways on Bainbridge -- something Islanders truly value. If the City must accomplish more development, please consider selling the plot of land currently occupied by the Police Station for high density development. It is a centrally located parcel already with sewer and water, and offers easy access to all downtown retail and health services. It is also a stone's throw from the ferry. Can you suggest this to HRB as an alternative site for their high density plans?
