This moove will be of detriment to me studying through Mary Andrews College. I have been eligible for fee help doing the diploma of ministry It will now change for me.

Support higher education reform

It is extremely important for Australia's economy that full financial support is offered by the government to enable them to achieve positions which will assist people in their times of need. Students are a worthwhile investment for Australia's future!!

Some of the most valuable contributions that can be made to our society is through mature aged, experienced professionals. When a person wishes to return to study to gain higher qualifications they are benefiting the whole of society. Once qualified they are not just theoretically based, often they have had years of valuable experience in the field, which leads to a more productive employee or self-employed professional who can give far more back to the community. Because a mature age student can have financial committments and a secure job to support them through their study, they cannot often attend normal University hours and therefore rely upon private higher education providers to gain their qualifications. Considering that working students are most likely to be paying back their debts immediately, they are financially a lesser burden than a young student who could take 10 or 15 years to start paying off their debt, if at all. Education is about increasing opportunity for all and encouraging those with the most maturity and experience to stay relevent and qualified for the changing times.

I reiterate the comments about freedom of choice. We choose our institution because of the degree it offers which suits our needs. We should not be penalised for this.

Education is the basis of our nation moving forward, let's make education acessible to all by making the proposed changes

The existing loan fee of 25 per cent for FEE-HELP for undergraduates should be removed.

Obviously to build better communities of people, we need knowledge and understanding of our world. Education is a key way for this to happen. So providing help towards this for people is going to better in the long run.

Let access to higher education be fair. Why should we be penalised for choosing not to study at a public university.

I believe that it is important for students to be able to have access to help with their fees.
