Support student choice. Support higher education reform.

I choose to look after my children myself AND study. Private institutions allow me to do this. Why am I not afforded the same financial support?

I am 51 years old I have accomplished my diploma and was thinking about a bachelor degree in counselling I guess I can kiss it goodbye ....

I am utterly disgusted with the decisions this government takes in order to make the students suffer economically. This needs a stop immediately. The government needs to support the new generation into studying and getting educated not quitting because of financial distress.

The Government's nonsense has to be immediately reviewed!

I am almost 65, studying a Linguistics course in order to qualify to teach English as a second language to support me into retirement. The Liberal Government "reforms" will make this unfeasible, and so I have suswpended my studies while you seek clasrity and commonsense, and decide to maintain the current system.

Private higher education institutions are usually far more flexible and work with smaller class sizes - without access to these benefits specifically, it would not be possible for me to finish my degree. Please reform higher education!

The 25% extra on student debt at private education facilities is very unfair and I completely support it being abolished.

It's absolutely unfair to be disadvantaged based on where we are studying. Many of us who are students simply cannot afford to pay part of our HECS. We are already in financial hardship let alone having to pay for our HECS fees prior to graduating . It's absolutely unfair for students to be disadvantagedand have to pay just because they are studying at a private institute. We are working just as hard as university students and will be graduating with the same degrees as them. Something needs to be done about this. If there is to be change, there should be change for everyone or no one at all.

Education should be equitable for all, we should not be penalised for education through a non university higher education provider.

I chose to go to a private academy for the smaller classes and the specialised learning. paying an additional 25% on my hecs is over the top and needs to be brought into line with other institutions.

We want Equal & Fair degrees for public or private higher education!!!!!

this is ridiculous. How are people supposed to fill needed positions if they can't afford to go to uni to get the needed education?!

This change is biased and will make goals simply unreachable for so many already struggling students.

I have been studying my degree for 1.5 years now and would have to stop if the changes are implemented. I have had nothing but distinctions and high distinctions so far and am keen to practice professionally. Please do not cut our funding and put successful students under such difficult circumstances. It is a loss to our community and population as well as our former egalitarian society which gave everyone a "fair go" at life and education, at doing something better and contributing. Is this only for the wealthy now?

Instead of money going towards giving prisoners a comfortable life, giving thousands to boat people, or supporting those sponging off Centrelink, give students an equal opportunity with education!
