This is appalling. The future generations will be greatly disadvantaged as a result., with the cost of raising children, saving for their university education will not be possible for many families. This cannot happen in Australia.

Why should we be disadvantaged just because the place we chose to study at offers a course that suits our goals for the future? It is completely unnecessary, unfair for us to have to pay so much more for rtying to broaden our horizons and better ourselves in something we love to do.

Personally it's barbaric how you can throw this upon students who are already studying and let them think it's okay to slowly pay off our debt then not even half way through our course say we need to pay the government 25% of our degree fees. Come on, there's a reason the government started supplying HELP plans, the Y Gen are our future and you're just throwing it away by making a good education unattainable for us. Get real.

i think there needs to be some kind of reasonable measure of value and not price. i mean market rational doesn't really work that well, more so now maybe.

There are more than 100,000 students in Australia who choose to study with a non-university higher education provider. We choose these learning institutions because they suit our educational goals, career aspirations and personal circumstances. The degree we receive is of equal value to its equivalent at a public university. But we are penalised for this choice. As a student studying with a private higher education provider, we cannot access government financial support. Unlike students who study at public universities, we pay full fees and an extra 25% on our HECS debt. We call on the Senators of the Australian Parliament to support student choice. Why should we be disadvantaged simply because of where we choose to study? Education is about increasing opportunity for all. We urge you to pass the government’s higher education reforms so that all students may have access to government supported places regardless of where they choose to study. After all, it’s all about choice.

I fully believe that all Australians are entitled to an education and should not be penalised regarding the institution in which we gain our degree. It comes down to the principles of equality and fairness.

I'm appalled at this discrimination. Surely it isn't much to ask for equality in fee support and debt. After all, we are all similarly striving to better ourselves and contribute to the community.

Load of crap, Its not fair how the government expects students to rip out $1200 for each subject over their course.
